The key instrument of Europe at School is the European Competition for artistic, written and multimedia works, prepared on a voluntary basis and evaluated by national juries. It is annually organized in about 15 European countries, under the general motto of the “European Year”. In each country individual themes for different age groups relating to the motto are formulated at the national level.

Through the long-term commitment of teachers and continuous participation in the European Competition, many schools have developed a European profile, showing that Europe at School is a means to drive sustainability.
